I just cant help but shake my head when reading or listening to Charlie Rangle . Never could stand to listen to his arrogant sound bites, and now it has caught up with him.

He is trying to claim that we should forgive and forget because he has been around for 40 years and of course he did no wrong in all those 40 yrs. These are "acts of omission", as he puts it. We are supposed to believe that "corruption and personal enrichment are certainly not part of my mistakes" . What a bunch of crap. misuse of his office for fundraising for the college center named after him-not personal gain?? campaign office in a subsidized residential-only apartment not personal gain?? misleading financial statements-not personal gain?? failure to pay taxes for 17 years on rental income-17 years!, not personal gain. He was head of the committee that oversaw tax legislation. He is an embarrassment to our government, let alone to the Democrat party. He should be removed from the House, and the fed needs to pursue him for the back taxes and penalties just as they would pursue you or me..

Where to begin is always the dilemma. So much has happened since last May, it gives one a headache. There is not enough time or space to go on about the Health Care situation other than to say, if it passes a lot of Dem. heads will roll and even if it does not pass, a lot of Dem heads will roll. Some are already out or on the way out.

Good by and good riddance Sen. Chris Dodd. I hope you take others with you. He must be getting out because his ego and arrogance wont let him loose the next election. Especially when he knows that his opponents will surely bring up all the shady deals and corruption of his past years-mortgage loans, Irish houses, etc.

As an aside on the latest attack by the "isolated extremest", as incompetent as Michael Leitman appears to be as head of the National Counter-terrorism Center ( Connect the Dots Agency), we should be glad he took the 7 day vacation. Just think of what would have come from that office if here were there during all that time. Cant fault him, after all the boss (Pres. Obama) didn't interrupt his vacation for this minor little happening. Can we all say one term wonder!!

I thought that I had heard just about everything until I read the column in today's (Jan 8) USA Today by Julianne Malveaux. Never thought that I would hear that climate change is now a race issue. Did you know that Blacks cause less greenhouse gas (20% less according to her) BUT, bear the greater burden in terms of pollution & climate change. The impact of climate change falls most heavily on "people of color" because the reside in urban areas. Thank you Black Caucus. Just one more thing to keep us separate so you and the Sharptons and Jacksons can justify your feeble existence. What about all the whites and "people of non-color" that reside in urban areas??

Can Nancy Pelosi get any scarier?? Have you seen the latest sound bite from here when questioned about the lack of transparency in the current health bill buy offs? Her cackle is worse than Hillarys. And finally, I thought I had heard all of the worst, most damaging sound bites over the past tow or three years, but while I was watching a Nat Geo show on the Viet Nam war, they replayed the clip of Walter Cronkite stating that the war would at best would end in a stalemate. Of course the geniuses in Washington followed his so knowledgeable lead and began to pull out, slow down, run. Lets not listen to those on the ground doing the fighting, sound familiar here?

Let start with Pelosi-she needs to go, at least go away as Speaker of the House. She has done enough speaking and just keeps getting deeper and deeper in to the crap pile. A lie is a lie Nancy, you are done. And maybe just maybe the loons in SF will see that also and dump you. Don't look to your fellow Dems to save you, they will be watching the backsides, not yours. While you are at it take Harry with you. What an embarrassment you both are, not only to your party but to the country.

As for this poor reporter, Roxann Saberi, who was in prison in Iran, we sure fell for that story didn't we. Looks like she was justly put away for spying if you will. Maybe not for the U.S. but if you take and copy secret papers what else would you call it? I am in no way in favor of anything Iran does, but please, she didn't know that taking the copies was a bad thing to do? What would happen to someone here in the U.S. who copied secret documents and got caught? Oh wait, lets ask Sandy Burger he might know.

SO now Obama the holy one is running the auto industry. When will the country get some balls and let him know that is not the change that was wanted, expected, or will be tolerated. We are not wanting to be a Fascist type country or a Socialist country. 2010 and 2012 are just around the corner, and you will be replaced by change we, the country really want. Notice how all of the great promises from the campaign have become broken as the reality sets in. Janet the DHS leader-we all feel so safe with her at the helm-is now back peddling on the terrorist report. Wait is there still anyone or anything allowed to be called terrorist? Speaking of ornamental impact, that is the logic that the courts have now used to ban loaded concealed guns into national parks. The admin. will not appeal that order but will conduct a full enviormental review. As if my concealed pistol has any effect on the environment. The poor excuse for a judge-Colleen Kollar-Kotelly said officials failed to evaluate its possible environmental impacts, as required by law. Another liberal dictum shrouded in false cover using a lame excuse to back it off. What is it with people that use two last names, or is it just me?? We are going to be environmentally restricted. Soon we will have our breathing restricted to certain hours because of the effect on the ozone layer or global warming or what ever. Watch out for those gas emissions people.

It wasn't bad enough to bow, yes it was a bow Mr. Gibbs, to a foreign leader now we shake hands and smile with Chavez? When will you learn. I pointed out before that on the job training in politics is especially not for a President. All his rhetoric is doing us so well with North Korea, China, and just so many other places to numerous to write about.

Change is coming, and not to soon. The elections are not that far away. We can clean house (and senate) and put some sound minds in the right jobs.

Barney Frank once again takes moron status: Now he is blaming Bush again for the AIG/ Bank problems that he and his committee caused with their failure to over see. He also wants to have control of the every day worker wages in those companies that bail out money is given to. Then there is the President telling GM to get rid of their CEO. Whether he was good or bad is not the question here. What is the question is what constitutional authority gives government the right to dictate to private enterprise these types of decisions. Last I looked GM was a company run by a board of directors with share holders. It is those folks that should be making these decisions.

Looks like our rock star is not all that loved anymore now that reality has set in. Europe is not enamored with him any more. Change you can believe in-NOT: What was all that open up a dialog with the bad guys we will sit down at the table and talk with them b.s. The latest great idea failure was the overture to the Taliban. A question, with all the 3rd world problems we continually hear about, what ever happened to the 1st and 2nd World? Who or what are they??

For those folks and police associations that are against red light cameras-why?? They protect drivers from the morons that feel that the red doesn't apply to them. I have seen, and worked, to many intersection accidents to find any validity to the nay sayers. Go cry to someone who might listen-if you run the red you pay. The only ones who are against it are those who might feel that they don't have to pay attention. Not to mention the cops, some are for it some against, but those against are just looking to put in more officers or over-time. And all the BS about the cameras will cause rear end accidents, even if that were true, I would rather have a minor rear end accident than a full force T-Bone at the intersection.

Here in St. Louis there is supposed to be a rally on 4/18, of those wonderful citizens who follow the swastika. We, the people, Jews and all others, should unite and flush these vermin down the sewer that they so deserve. Sorry but this is where I draw the line with the 1st Amend. These sub humans don't deserve the protection afforded by the Constitution let alone the right to rally.

Today during testimony Geithner said "We have to watch how the economy evolves," when questioned about whether the administration would let the increases take effect if the economy had not recovered in two years. This from a man who cant even follow simple directions and answer questions posed from Turbo Tax. Would you trust him to "watch how the economy evolves"???

On the good news side: A court in Baghdad convicted an Iraqi journalist of assault Thursday for hurling his shoes at George W. Bush and sentenced him to three years in prison. He is lucky that the Secret Service didn't kill him on the spot after the first shoe. I still don't understand why no security got to this major moron before the second shoe. I wonder what would have happened had that occurred here in the U.S. to either the President or a foreign guest.

So much has happened since the last update, so here we go!!

Politics: So much with so little time don't forget that the elections of 2010 are not far off. Once again I see the cowards of the IRA strike again at unarmed unsuspecting soldiers and civilians in their fruitless attempt at ending the peace.

Mexico should go on the offensive with extreme prejudice attacking the drug slobs where they live-at their homes. The US should give Mexico, if they don't have some already, a couple of missile firing drones. Combine the surprise explosion and demise with a couple of air assaults on their homes should have a sobering effect. They don't care about civilian life, so retaliation should take out whom ever is located within the mansions and houses of the cartels. Even follow the Israeli way of targeting their vehicles.

Obamas grey hair: First of all who really gives a crap about that. Is there not anything more important to write about considering our problems here with the economy?? Or have you heard there is a war being fought on two fronts that we never hear about. Maybe the grey hair came when Obama found out the real story after he took office, in stead of the dribble he spoke about during the election. Notice how many of his anti-Bush statements have remained in place.

Cuba: Please explain to me why we do not have relations with Cuba? We could be trade partners and more which would marginalize the creeps to the south of there. If we can be friendly with the likes of North Korea, China, Russia, and even North Viet Nam surely we can suck it up and work with Cuba. After all they did nothing to us the likes of which the others have done.

Rush: I agree with Rush as I would bet most, at least 50%, of the people do. I also hope Obama fails. His failure means that my country will not have to suffer with his, their, socialist ideals and ideas. His failure means that the GOP, and conservatism, will come back to power all that much sooner. Explain to me who in their right mind would vote for someone and a party that tells you up front that they will raise your taxes, take your money to give to those that do not deserve it or have not earned it, and that you should smile about or you are unpatriotic.

Pelosi and Reid: just keep in mind you two power hungry hypocrites, what goes around comes around and it will come around a lot sooner than you think. 2010 is just around the corner. You cant even keep your own members in line. Your days are numbered and hopefully those who vote will see through you.

On the entertainment front: Radiohead, get over yourself. Miley has so much more class than you will ever have, and will be successful for a lot longer than you could ever hope to be.

Just for the record, I am opposed to the auto bailout. The big three will just take the money and do more of the same. They really need to do a Chapt. 11, and restructure getting rid of unprofitable vehicle lines, over stuffed pay and benefits to the union, etc. Lower pay and benefits is better than no pay, no job.

You should look at the front page picture in todays Post. Check the look on Bidens face as the group is walking off stage with Obama and Hillary arm in arm. He looks like a lost sole. f The lost sole that he is and will be.

Time to catch up after a long lay-off.

Barak if you enjoy Europe so much stay there. It is probably not as mean a place as the USA. I can just picture a Obama White House with Wright, and the others in position of some sort of power, or sleeping the Lincoln bedroom. There is way to much negative for him to win this election starting with inexperience, lack of any substance unless he is reading from a prompter, to all the "situations" with his associations, on and on. As far as not picking on the wife, if you allow her to speak on your behalf and for the campaign and spout your philosophy then what she says and how she says it are fair game. Obama is NOT a friend of Israel for that matter, what has any Democrat really done for Israel? He and they tell one group one thing then the next day recant and change the meaning of what they said. Wake up people of Israel, and Jews in the U. S. It is time to dump the Democrats. Lieberman did and he is better off for it.

They finally jumped the shark-our global warming nut jobs and their great leader Al, now they blame kidney stones on global warming according to a Univ. of Texas study. Give me a break. What ever happened to global cooling from a few years ago? Has it occurred to anyone that the changes are the normal course of the earths evolution. We may and I say may hesitantly, be causing some degree of that change but I bet the volcanoes, and the methane from dinosaur dung did a lot worse.

This big argument about not drilling for oil because it will be 10 yrs to get results etc. needs to go away and fast. First of all, it will not take 10 yrs. Secondly, even if it did, so what-start now and we wont have such a big problem in 10 yrs. Drilling along with the other sources, solar, wind, and nuke, need to be started NOW. What is the objection by the Democrats? If it were to take 10 yrs, who cares it is on the oil companies not on Congress. Give up the partisanship.

Now lets discuss that wonderful organization, La Raza: A couple of their web site overviews leave a lot to desire. As for drivers licenses, their site says, "denying undocumented immigrants access to driver’s licenses and have the potential to exclude legal immigrants and even U.S. citizens from state-issued identification documents. That is BS. Lets worry about the "potential" when and if it happens. As for now, and as it should be for ever in the future, those illegals of any race, culture, ethnicity etc. or as La Raza calls them undocumented immigrants, should not be allowed and are not entitled to drivers licenses, or any other "rights" as afforded to legal citizens of the U.S. If they, the illegals, do not like the way things are here, go home. That is where you belong anyway. Those that support or encourage illegal entry and immigration , should be prosecuted. Why do you think it is called illegal? What would happen to a U.S. citizen who was found to be in another country, any country, illegally?

On the language issue, you are in America, not Mexico, not El Salvador, not any other country. Speak or learn to speak the language in order to "get along" in the business and legal world here. Other than in most major tourist areas of foreign countries the language used is not that of English but the language of the country you are in. You either learn to speak or hope you find an English speaking person. Again, if you don't like the way we run our country go home, and go now.

Even worse in my mind are cities such as San Francisco. Breaking the law in becoming a sanctuary city should be punished by the feds. The mayor should be arrested if for no other charge of aiding and encouraging illegal activity. Federal funds should be withheld from that city as long as they are breaking the law. A boycott needs to be put into effect for tourism, and business with these individuals and officials. I feel for the citizens, but then again, you all voted these morons into office. How about voting them out and getting back to being the great city that you once were. As for the military in SF. If they don't want you there, pull out and see how they like the lack of funds from everything from allowing members of the military to visit there to having installations in the SF area.

Just a word about this issue. Al Gore, former VP, and Nobel Peace Prize winner, is a fraud. Have you seen the news regarding the fake digitalizing of a styrofoam model for the scene from the ice shelf? which would lead one to wonder what else in the film or the whole issue for that matter, is fake. Follow the money. Why does big Al always blow off anyone, regardless of their esteemed credentials, who does not agree with him and his scientists? Remember there was an Ice Age a long time ago, and then, wonder of wonders, global warming, and they receded. Now we are here. What is it with all those "former" democratic politicians that think they should continue to intervene in our lives after they are gone and out of office. If it isn't Jimmy Carter, it is Al Gore or Bill Clinton. Why cant they just go a way and be quiet! There is a reason their title includes the term "former".

Someone should take Jimmy Carters passport away. If any of us normal people took the same trip we would in all probability be put in jail when we returned. He obviously has no respect for our governments position with regard to dealing with terrorists or terrorist leaders. A sure sign of his advancing age, now he claims to not have had any warning to not go from our State Dept. Jimmy, you should have stayed-there. We have no need for you here. You are a self important ego maniac that cannot realize that you are a past president, not a current one and certainly not currently relevant. I am truly surprised that Israel even let him stop there.

Here is an idea in dealing with the current "go green" life style. Since we are using a great deal of our corn and soy bean crops for bio-diesel and ethanol, why not get those farmers in Afghanistan to dump their poppy crops to grow the corn and soy beans. That way we would not deplete our supply of those crops causing shortages, increased food prices etc.

How is this for a big carbon foot print in the %^&*() for Al Gore-we now find out that a portion of his award winning movie is fake, taken from a Styrofoam mock up used for some other purpose and digitally put into his film to show the ice shelf. Isn't that just dandy, what else is there in his film or for that matter all of his preachings, that is false, fake, or a lie? How inconvenient. I just don't buy into that global warming idea. The earth has been going from warm to cold since the big bang. Take a cruise up to Alaska and listen to the Park Rangers tell you about how some glaciers are receding while others are actually growing. That alone will make you stop and think about the false truths of global warming. Follow the money-when and why did Al decide to get into this field? Must have been after he invented the Internet or was it after he became the object of "Love Story" the movie.

So Hillary dodged all those sniper bullets and won in PA. She still cant win at the convention unless there is some back room underhanded deals made, and I am sure that the Clinton's would never stoop to that level. Either way, either candidate coming out of the convention will not win in October. Both have way to much baggage now to over ride McCain. The Democrat race is truly a race of the lesser of two evils. I don't buy the spin that Hillary misspoke due to being tired etc. The same bs story was spit out in writing in her book and a couple of times verbally. Just a plain lie.

Obama has received the political kiss of death-he now has the support of Michael Moore. Now there is a great endorsement. We all just want to follow his example don't we??

What are the chances that if we cut back on our usage of gas that the gas companies will continue to raise prices due to reduced profits from our reduced usage?

Another solution to a sensitive problem. For those that clamor for us to not separate the families of illegals here in our country when the illegal is returned home, send them all back. That way they wont be separated. The adults that come here illegally should know the potential risk of getting caught and what the end result will be. If they choose to have a family here, and those who are here legally or are already citizens that decide to make a family with an illegal, they are very selfish knowing that eventually the family will be broken up, or a burden will be placed on the children. Keep them together, send them all home when caught.

Almost time for the boat to go into the water. It has been a long winter. Right now she is getting a bottom painting, and then it will take a few days to clean her up from the winter. She is a 1998 Catalina 250 WB (water ballast) in excellent condition, located on Lake Carlyle at Tradewinds Marina. I purchased a new light air sail last year that I still have yet to try out. Looking for "crew" to join me anytime during the week. If you enjoy spending the day or part of the day sailing, and want to go out on the lake, let me know.

So much happens when I don't keep up. Now I have to really get into it on the political arena.

I feel sorry for the Democrats, you really don't have much of a choice. One with no record of any significant achievement, and limited voting, the other with a record that no one wants to bring up again-travelgate, fostergate, recordsgate, monicagate, health insurancegate....don't let the gate hit you in the rear on the way out!!

Please tell me what is with the extra names? sometimes it is Hillary Clinton and others Hillary Rodham Clinton, guess it depends on who she wants to impress. And why are we not seeing Hussein in between the Barack and the Obama? I think that Obama is now done for it, thanks to his preacher. He spent over 20 yrs there hearing all this tripe, obviously it effected Mrs. Obama, just listen to her misguided oratory. Not proud of this country, then go somewhere else, and take Barack with you.

Now lets address the ungrateful anti Americans, Code Pink! Very appropriate color , pink. That used to be the color associated with communism-pinko! Might I remind you that there is no "first amendment right" to disturb the peaceful legal operation of any other person or organization no matter how much you disagree with their message. Pink has no 1st amendment right to disrupt the function of the recruiters. Try reading the 1st amendment!

How do we know if her whole story was not made up? The argument about revealing sources will cause whistleblowers to not report problems is bogus. There are now laws protecting whistleblowers, they do not need to be hidden. What revealing, at the order of the court, those sources will eliminate those whistleblowers that are not providing truthful information. Glenn H Reynolds in USA Today of 3/10 got it right-ther is no provlidge violated here, the reporter is free to write (1st amendment) but not to hide behind privilege to shield sources especially when the courts direct release of that information. This is a Nation of Laws and if you cant follow the law, find somewhere else to practice your profession. Now she is poisoning the minds of students.

Here we go with our Congress taking time away from important issues to deal with sports. In the first place who do you believe?? He said He said?? If I was a juror in this case, I would have to go with Clemens. Who in their right mind could believe a former police officer who just happend to keep gauze, needles etc., with blood and dna for all those years. Sounds a little bit like a blackmail attempt that got turned down. In a real court, not the kangaroo court of the congress, all that would not be allowed in as evidence. No way of knowing when the blood, dna, steroids were added to the items and in what order. Clemens gets my vote in this one. Or as that moron tried to say-It is what it is. Like I really believed that he knew he was being taped. For a former cop he isnt to smart-maybe that is why he is a former cop. Dont even get me started on the Senators at the hearing, what an embarassment .

Time to play catch up. It begins with sports. What does Congress think it is doing trying to police and control baseball? They cant even take care of their own house. More on this in sports. However, Polosi needs to go along with dear Mr. Reid. What a bunch of lame loosers. Moving on, it appears that Mrs. Bill is done, hopefully anyway. The worst of the two may be Obama. Talk about all bark no bite-all I hear is change change change, and what he is going to do, but never hear about how and more importantly who is going to pay for it all. What a naive and inexperienced Senator. The people in Illinois have really been short changed in electing him. He has done nothing for you since taking office. Then again what has Hillary done for anyone lately. The thought of her and Willy in my White House gives me chills. What a major arrogant self important pair of habitual liars. There isnt enough room here to list all of the baggage that they will bring back to the White House.

McCain is not all that much better but he is the lesser of the evils. He is more Democrate/liberal than many Democrates. Does anyone remember when he was kissing up to Kerry?? Where is Fred when you really need him.

A Summer Experience

In this time of winter what could be better than a summer sailing story. The disturbing part is that it is a true story. Let me say at the outset that I have had 30 years of experience sailing various size sail boats, however that doesn't seem to matter when it comes to getting a brain cramp.

It was a typical summer day in mid-Illinois on Lake Carlyle, hot, humid, and a bit windy. The boat is a Catalina 250. After sailing around for about an hour, my niece and wife decided it was time to stop and cool off in the water. I dropped the sails and started to head forward to lower the anchor when they both said not to take the time, they just wanted a quick dip. That was error #1. They go in with floatation in the form of a "noodle" and a seat cushion. It wasn't long before the wind had blown the boat with me on board a distance from them that they could not swim back to the boat. I have no idea why I did not start the outboard and just motor over to them, but instead of common sense, I opted to jump in and help them get back to the boat. With a little push and encouragement they made it back to the boat.

This story would be bad enough if that was the end, but it wasn't. Now they were on the boat and I was in the water, with the seat cushion, and the boat was drifting further away by the minute. Of course they didn't know how to anchor or start the outboard, and I was not making any headway back to the boat trying to swim. All of my yelling and cursing instructions did not seem to sink in. Fortunately they were able to flag down a passing motor boat who's operator was kind enough to tow me back to my boat. Notice I said tow me back and not give me a ride back. I think they warned him that I was in somewhat of a foul mood. Very embarrassing to be towed back to your boat. A big lesson here is to make sure that all on board know how to take care of the simple necessities in case of an emergency, like dropping the anchor or starting a motor.

Catch Up

I need to catch up since it has been some time since my last entry, probably around Thanksgiving. A few points of interest.

I purchased a T-Shirt during a recent visit to the Pentagon. Get this-the label says, knitted in the USA, Assembled in Honduras. Assembled?? I cant believe that there is that much savings to put the cloth together in another country, especially when you consider packaging, shipping etc. in both directions, there and back. What a great place to visit, Washington DC. Everyone needs to go there at least one time in your life.

I see where the Democrats once again have stepped up and done the right thing. Now they will fund the troops and include a time table to pull out. Haven't you tried that before? They must like that VETO stamp. An how, pray tell, do they think that the limitation of funds will have "no impact to troop readiness until 3/2008"? Once again that wind bag Murtha speaks but nothing comes out. We aren't worried about readiness, we are worried about current time. Today and tomorrow John.

Who was it that stated that the border fence would be an environmental disaster? Next they will try to tell us that we will need to get carbon credits for the big foot print.

The world needs to prop up the government of Abbas and show the Palestinians in Gaza what peaceful life and economy can be like. Maybe then they will get rid of that Hamas scum that is holding them hostage. Much like the East/West Berlin situation, someday the Gaza will join society in a peaceful way, if the people rise up and dump them. In the meantime, those in the West Bank will enjoy the fruits of freedom and a peaceful life.

As a note on the Holiday season, Wal-Mart must be doing something right. We shop there, and they are profitable.

Yes of course we should after all that is one of the most heinous crimes occurring at this moment in the Sudan, that they have to deal with. Not the death and destruction in Darfor, but a teddy bear with a name. The real shame here is on the children for naming the teddy, and their parents who have not taught them that this would be a capital offense. Abdul-Jalil Nazeer al-Karouri needs to have his head unscrewed. People like him do not deserve the positions that they are given in the community as religious leaders. Kill the teacher but ignore Darfor-you sir are an embarrassment not only to your religion but to humanity. Those that took to the streets in their fiend rage need to look into the mirror and put that energy into helping their brothers in Darfor and elsewhere. Get a life you morons!

To those that do not want to use the English language here in the U.S.A in public discourse or business transaction. Go home. Can you imagine if one of us were to protest in Mexico that the locals would not speak English for us. That would last long. To the LA school board that wants to hold its meeting in Spanish-don't, cant shouldn't. If you want to hold your public meeting in a language that is not the accepted language of the country-go to the country that accepts that language, and get out of mine.

On the Road

This is coming to you from the road. In Baltimore, again. Just a couple of thoughts as we go in to Veterans Day. Happy Birthday to the Marines!! Have you honored a vet today? this week maybe? How about ever. Here is an idea, next time you notice a vet or an active duty soldier out at the restaurant, especially when they are with their family, pick up the tab.

A note to vets, and their families, if you need any assistance in researching prior military service and/or obtaining replacement medals and awards, let me know. I will assist at no charge. I have done this for my father (WWII, 60th Inf Reg., 9th Inf), my Uncle (WWII U S Navy, Petty Officer 1st Class Aviation Radio Technician), and for a neighbors father (WWII Army Air Force fighter pilot). All were unaware of some of the awards and medals that they were entitled to. For those that may have noticed, the 9th patch is up side down-but has been corrected in the presentation frame.

A few notes from travels. Those of you that feel compelled to wear those Blue Tooth phone things in your ear out in public-DON'T. Are you aware of just how ridiculous you look to everyone else. You want to wear them in the car-great idea and safe. Wear them at the office or around the house because you are so important that an ordinary cell phone or desk phone just wont do, great also. But out in public you look like a Star Wars wanna be. I actually saw a guy wearing one in the movie theater with that little light glowing. Worked great for mister self important until he forgot where he was and started talking. I don't know when it became such a fashion statement but it isn't, just ask those around you, if you could hear them with one ear working.

Anyone out there sail? Love it. Been doing it for 30 years. We have a large man made lake near here and I go there as often as possible. It is very relaxing, and quiet. Not like our fellow boaters that chug along causing havoc with their carbon foot print. More on that later. Time to watch some politics on the tube and see who has made a fool of them self again.

Another Day of It

Are we getting the whole story or do "they" think we are morons. In the beginning the big jump in gas, remember when it was in the $.90s??, was due to the cost of a barrel of crude. Then crude prices went up and up and gas either stayed level or, like here in the mid-west,, it actually dropped. Now the price of crude was level for a while and prices went up-that was due to the fear of some disruption or something like that. Prices for crude go up again and now gas is up again. Go figure!! my back hurts from bending over so much.

Please, Al, shut up already. I know just where to put a carbon foot print for you. A few convenient truths that are true (and not exaggerated): man has probably contributed to some warming but did it ever occur to you that there has been this ebb and flow of warm and cold for eons? Remember the ice age? Not more than 20 years ago everyone was worried about the earth cooling. It is a natural evolution-warm then cold then warm. Nothing we do or don't do will change that other than to make our lives more inconvenient and costly. I don't know about you big Al, but I don't have the money or the time to worry about a carbon foot print or buying one back or whatever they call it. I have planted a number of trees and shrubs in my back yard, does that count? Can I now drive my SUV to work? or should I walk?

What a dumb cop Peterson is. Did he not watch enough CSI and Criminal Intent to know that the spouse is ALWAYS the first one looked at, and usually the one who did it. Not to mention this is #4? Another moron on the loose soon to be put away.

Speaking of put away, I think it will be safe to mail my "I am gonna miss you" card to OJ. Sure hope they get him this time. The only down side to his going away for this latest ego trip will be, who will take up the hunt for his ex-wife's and Ron Goldman's killer? Call Cold Cases.

What is the word on your local paper? Mine is great, if you want to use it for a bird cage bottom, or to wrap trash. Aside from very limited national news, there were 31 pages without any ads in the sports section, 4 full pages of ads, and only 10 pages of news without any ads. the other pages that were supposed to be news would have only one or two articles, short ones at that and then more ads. Not long ago we had a front page full color picture with 4 or 5 columns above the fold, on a husband and wife that fish by hand. The picture was of the two of them (yes there were a few teeth to be seen, but not many) waist deep in the creek or river trying to catch fish by hand. And we wonder why we are not a major mid west city of any importance. We are not even a air line hub anymore.

I am so glad the our great congress, Senate and House, were not around back in the WWII times. Can you just imagine!! After Pearl Harbor hearing - well I voted for the war before I voted against it. Or lets fund the troops but not enough to finish the job, so the President will have to bring them home. What would have happened to a Senator or Congressman who made a speech back then claiming that the war was lost? What do you think Harry??

By the way, NO to drivers licenses or any other type of ID for illegals of any ethnicity. Isn't that called aiding and abetting? or contributing after that fact. The only ID I want to see on an illegal is the ICE ID so they can board the deportation bus. It is illegal to assist someone in the commission of a crime, and it is a crime to be in the U.S. illegally. Don't play the violin and give me the tears about the family that is left behind or the kids who will be without there father or mother. Mom and Dad should have thought about that when they came here and reproduced. There is a very humane solution to that issue-send them all back together. What would happen to you or me if, now here is a stretch, we decided to stay over from our visa or snuck over into Mexico to go live in say Playa or Cancun or any other of the resort areas. You can be sure that there would be no outcry from the Mexican politicians to give us ID cards or drivers licenses, or amnesty. We would be lucky to get a meal in the jail that they would put us in.

Remind me at my next press conference to plant some good questions to make myself look good in the eyes of the audience. First the clown in Washington at the Homeland Security or where ever he was from, and then Hillary. It would have been really great if one of the students would have agreed to do the staged question, and then sub in one of there own. That would have really been worth watching. The poor excuse for a debate, better named a sound bite bit, are not worth taking the time to waste. I need that time to catch fish by hand in the river near by.

Veterans Day

What a great day to begin the blog. To honor our vets from all wars. past and present. While we are on the subject what is this BS of give them a little $$ and bring them home. Since when did Harry and Nancy become the experts in military affairs. They need to spend some quality time on the ground in the dirt and see just what is going on. Way to much reliance on the "arm chair" Generals. Thank you for your service, but take a lesson from those that have done it right-Stormin Norman, and Tommy Franks, neither of these fine gentlemen are seen blabbering about what they would have should have our could have done. More on these issues in future issues

Many (who are these many anyway) say that we should not compare this effort to that of WWII. I say that there are many many similarities that need to be compared. Not the least of which is the bravery of the U. S. military. Time wise we didn't come into WWII until it had been blazing for 3 or four years. Just think what could have happened if we had been as proactive with Adolph as we were with Saddam!
